It is with great honor I post the following two stories. Both of these individuals have made a huge impact on my life personally. I believe that the journies shared by both of these individuals will make an impact on the lives of many.

Mickeral is active with KCA Forums and posts frequently. He's always been a huge inspiration to both Allen and I. I've "nagged" at him for a very long time asking him to share his journey!

Aimee is a young kidney cancer warrior who has dealt with and overcome a great deal in her short life. Her faith and her positive attitude inspite of her cancer is truly a story that should be shared!

Featured Warrior of the Month for May 2011: Sue Guenther

Sue has agreed to share her post in her caringbridge site from today May 1, 2011. This entry is differenet in the stories shared previously. Her focus is not based on when she was diagnosed or the different procedures she's been through or the different treatments she's been on. When I first requested that she share her story, her hesitation was that these details are not her main focus. Her main focus is obvious .... after you read her entry. She would much prefer talk about what God has done in and thru her life in her kidney cancer journey. Thank you Sue for sharing and thank you for allowing us all to be a part of what God has done in your life using your kidney cancer! God is always bigger than our problems ~ that's a lesson I keep learning over and over. I do hope you'll read Sue's story.

Kidney Cancer Warriors 1st Meeting Occurs @ KCA's Nat'l Survivors Conference

The kidney cancer Warriors Chat family had our first gathering (of hopefully many) in Houston, Texas, the night prior to the Kidney Cancer Association's National Kidney Cancer Survivor's Conference at MD Anderson which took place Saturday, April 9, 2011. On Friday, April 8, 2011, we finally had our first kidney cancer Warriors gathering at Pappasito's in Houston for dinner. Several of us discussed in chat many times how much we all wanted to meet. Sometime in mid-2010, we were all discussing this dream of ours ~ the entire group ~ not just my dream or just the dream of any one person, but the dream of the entire KCW Chat family! I suggested we meet on my birthday at the KCA Survivors Conference in Houston. OUR dream came to pass and it was awesome! A great time was had by all! There's nothing like meeting in person the folks who are currently on the same roller coaster as you. KCW truly appreciates Kidney Cancer Association for all that they do to keep survivors and their loved ones informed and providing a conference for kidney cancer Survivors and their loved ones - those who are currently walking the kidney cancer journey with their loved one.

Pam Fiesler
All the KCW Chat ladies were able to speak on the phone to Pam during our dinner gathering. She was very weak and unable to attend the conference, but very much wanted to be there. We were able to bring the gathering to her in a very small way by telling her how much we loved her and how much we were all thinking about her. Pam, unfortunately, lost her battle in April shortly after the conference.
